Indian Ocean Defence & Security Conference and Exhibition (IODS 2026)
26-28 May 2026

At IODS 2026, Leonardo will showcase its vision for Force Sensing in contested and congested environments, enabling defence forces to achieve concepts such as mass, interoperability and interchangeability at sea.

As a global technology company providing local capability. Leonardo works in partnership with customers to deliver advanced, integrated capabilities across maritime, air, land, cyber and space domains.

In an increasingly complex and contested security environment, Leonardo combines global expertise with strong local partnerships to support capability development, operational advantage and sovereign resilience across the Indo-Pacific region.

Aligned with IODS’s focus on regional security challenges, industry collaboration and innovation, Leonardo looks forward to engaging with defence leaders, partners and stakeholders throughout the three-day programme.

Capability Showcase

KRONOS® NAVAL is a multifunctional AESA radar used on naval vessels of 400 gross tons and above. Its applications include point defence, air and sea surveillance, littoral warfare, and missile and gunfire support.

The underwater technologies offered by Leonardo, with their state-of-the-art solutions, systems and platforms, enable a rapid and accurate response to neutralise the potential threats faced by nations today.

LIONFISH is Leonardo's family of small calibre naval turrets. Their lightweight, compact dimensions and safe usage make them the best choice for installation on small ships or as secondary armament on larger ships.

This multi-mode radar combines an Active Electronically Scanned Array with a COTS processor to provide unparalleled surveillance using a variety of advanced modes, enhancing the platform’s ability to detect even the smaller targets.

The Osprey multi-mode surveillance radar provides second generation Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) surveillance capability as the primary sensor on airborne assets to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

Leonardo's operationally-proven, innovative, scalable, layered Counter-UAS (CUAS) capability is designed to detect, track, identify and provide mitigation option, providing operators with the facilities to neutralise drones of all types and sizes.

Providing battle-winning capabilities which will revolutionise the way operations are conducted against sophisticated air defence systems.

The most significant advance in radar-guided missile countermeasure since the advent of chaff, building on a century designing EW solutions that help save aircrews' lives.

The COSMO-SkyMed constellation is the most ambitious satellite Earth Observation programme ever developed, taking over two million images during the past 15 years.

Guardian Shield is a next generation integrated Explosive Ordnance Disposal Electronic Countermeasures (EOD ECM) system. It is flexible, re-programmable and adaptable to protect in the most demanding threat environments, now and into the future.

Leonardo has collaborated with the UK MOD, Royal Navy and DE&S for over a decade to advance Rotary Wing Uncrewed Air Systems, to develop the Proteus Technology Demonstrator to enhance payload modularity, autonomy and rotorcraft technology.

Leonardo is working with MBDA, UK MOD and Dstl to develop a Laser Directed Energy Weapon that provides short-range air defence capability or close-in protection for naval vessels.

From contested seas to a hybrid fleet: why integration, miniaturisation and data will define the Royal Navy’s next era

From contested seas to a hybrid fleet: why integration, miniaturisation and data will define the Royal Navy’s next era

As global maritime security becomes more connected and contested, navies are being pushed to generate greater mass and effect without relying solely on exquisite, heavily crewed platforms. In the UK, that pressure is accelerating a shift towards a “hybrid navy” – a dispersed but digitally connected mix of crewed and uncrewed systems. The driving mantra is a force that can sense, decide, deliver effect and is connected.
