At Leonardo our commitment to our people, and to being an inclusive and diverse organisation, ensures everyone who steps through our doors feels included and supported regardless of who they are. By understanding our people and what they need better, we continually work to remove barriers that people can experience when they come to work.
Our aim is for:
“Leonardo to be a welcoming, inclusive place to work for all of our people. We will strive to build an inclusive, diverse culture where individuals can thrive, feel safe and perform at their best.”
We have developed a new Inclusion & Diversity Strategy and Action Plan for 2020+, bringing together in one place all the activities that we have already started and the new actions that we will be introducing in response to recent employee survey findings, feedback, external trends and best practice.
The I&D Plan follows the employee lifecycle from attraction, resourcing, developing and raising awareness through to creating the right culture.
The idea is to keep things simple and easy to understand. The plan includes clear, tangible actions underneath each of the five stages that will ensure Leonardo is an inclusive place to work for our people. It is known that whilst most, if not all, people support the idea of inclusion, they are not sure what they are meant to do about it.
Leonardo's new plan clearly sets out these actions so that I&D becomes even more visible within and outside of Leonardo, and something that we can measure the progress of. We will be keeping this page up-to-date with our activities, which are detailed below.
We have also established a People and Inclusion Committee to lead the discussion and oversee the implementation of this I&D Plan. The committee includes members of our Senior Leadership Team, demonstrating their commitment and support, as well as members from within our business who have a passion for making more progress with our I&D work and have volunteered to take part.
