Our Elstree site, which opened in May 2026, provides manufacturer-approved maintenance, logistics and technical support for the fleet of Leonardo civil helicopters operating across the UK and Ireland.

The hub strengthens Leonardo's long-term commitment to the UK aerospace sector, as well as market resilience, customer proximity and long-term customer support, reinforcing the company's high-tech footprint across the country as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM).

Operated through the company’s Belgium subsidiary, which is responsible for after sales support, logistics and maintenance of civil and public service helicopters across Europe, the Elstree facility will serve as a critical bridge for European aerospace synergy. It integrates Leonardo’s continental logistics and experience with the UK’s engineering expertise to give skilled support for the UK’s fleet of Leonardo and Agusta helicopters.

What the local region offers

Hertfordshire has a rich aviation history with British aviation pioneer Geoffrey de Havilland basing the de Havilland Aircraft Company a few miles North of Elstree in Hatfield. It is here the legendary wooden de Havilland Mosquito fighter-bomber was built during World War II and where in 1947, the de Havilland Comet, the world's first production commercial jetliner, was also developed.

Today, this aviation heritage continues with the University of Hertfordshire, built on the site of the de Havilland Aeronautical Technical School, now home to a host of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in aeronautical engineering.

Agusta's commitment is to offer the best of innovation for a superior flying experience. Feel comfortable and safe every day, everywhere.

With their long-range endurance and capacity to operate in all weather conditions, Leonardo helicopters are ideally suited to a wide range of commercial rotary operations.
