The inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) is based upon the results of the Corporate Sustainability Assessment of S&P Global, analyzing ESG performance of companies with a view to continuous improvement, relying principally on publicly disclosed information and the results of the "media & stakeholder analysis" process. The rate assigned to Leonardo, as of 08/12/2023, is equal to 80 points out of 100, consolidating its position as the highest in the Aerospace & Defence sector for the fifth year running.
“Sustainability is a lever to boost the competitiveness of our business,” commented Roberto Cingolani, CEO and General Manager of Leonardo. “In the coming years, we will be focused above all on decarbonizing our direct and indirect activities in line with our Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) commitment, making our supply chain more sustainable and promoting a culture based on diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
“The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices results are an important recognition of our role as a global sustainability leader. We are therefore convinced in pursuing our strategy of creating sustainable value for all our stakeholders, further strengthening our governance of ESG issues," commented Stefano Pontecorvo, Chairman of Leonardo.
The inclusion of Leonardo in the DJSI of S&P Global follows the ratings assigned by the other relevant agencies during 2023. Leonardo has, indeed, received the A - Average rating from MSCI ESG Ratings, the update of the ESG Risk Rating by Sustainalytics (25.0 - medium risk), the ESG Score produced by Moody's Analytics (63/100), confirming itself within the MIB ESG Index of Euronext and Borsa Italiana, the A- rating by CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) and the inclusion in the Bloomberg's Gender Equality Index 2023.
