Home Office selects Leonardo MC_linX Dispatcher for their blue light services

16 October 2025

The Home Office has selected Leonardo as their partner to deliver the MC_linX Dispatcher service for the Emergency Services Network (ESN).

The MC_linX Dispatcher will allow the Emergency Services Mobile Communications Programme (ESMCP) to provide a high level of assurance that the ESN Control Room interface will conform with 3GPP Mission Critical standards for public safety. 3GPP is the international standards body for mobile communications.

The technology will support users to transition from the Airwave Network to the ESN, by providing a consolidated view of ESN Users in the Control Room. This means that Control Room operators will be able to identify who has contacted them and where they are located on a map.

The Leonardo MC_linX Dispatcher will use a secure cloud platform that will allow ESN users to access the platform’s capability securely through a web browser, regardless of the technology they are using or their location.

The product will maintain ongoing compliance with 3GPP standards to ensure that user organisations without an existing dispatching capability can now benefit from the full ESN functionality.

Leonardo MC_linX Dispatcher forms part of the Leonardo MC_linX scalable mission-critical ecosystem, offering a high degree of availability and resilience, drawn from a 50-year heritage of service provision for mission-critical communication network technology.

Leonardo continues to evolve its technology roadmap to accommodate International Public Safety Requirements, to provide a resilient and strategic capability that should lie at the heart of any critical national security service.

Because the product is embedded with Leonardo Cyber Security capabilities, both the product and the programme delivery are Secure by Design and Cyber Resilient. Leonardo is certified by the UK National Cyber Security Centre as a specialist in Risk Assessment and Management across both Enterprise IT and Operational Technologies. As an assured service provider, Leonardo’s Secure by Design and Cyber Resilient approach ensures that appropriate cyber resilience is delivered throughout the lifecycle of a product or capability, from design through to deployment and final disposal.

Allan Leggetter, MD of the UK Cyber & Security Division and the Security Director of Leonardo UK, said: “After many years of association with the programme, we welcome the opportunity to integrate our MC_linX Dispatcher solution into the ESN programme, in collaboration with Home Office partners. We feel an enormous sense of pride in being able to support and connect users of ESN across the UK, building on our role as a strategic security partner for the Home Office.”
