UK Training Operations
Leonardo’s UK Helicopter Training Operations’ primary role is the design and delivery of suitable training courseware or support services and solutions, to our customers and their nominated operators and users, in support of various Leonardo Helicopters programmes and contracts.

This may include:

  • Courseware development
  • Flight training delivery
  • Ground Crew/ School Training
  • Pilot Training
  • Design and development of training products, services and solutions
  • Interfacing with customers and users of UK products
  • Student feedback / course evaluation

In addition, the team manages a training centre, featuring a Full Flight Simulator, which is based in Norway in support of the Norwegian All-Weather Search and Rescue Helicopter (NAWSARH) programme. The team also supports and delivers specific training to on site personnel, to satisfy internal training requirements (e.g. Human Factors, Safety Protects, Root Cause Analysis etc).

For over a decade, Leonardo has successfully delivered training for the British military’s AW159 ‘Wildcat’ pilots, aircrew and ground personnel. The Wildcat Training Centre (WTC), based at RNAS Yeovilton, is a world-leading training establishment that leverages a multitude of advanced synthetic training solutions for optimum training outcomes.
