Avalanche Photodiode (APD) Arrays

Leonardo’s Avalanche Photodiode (APD) Arrays were originally developed for the SWIR 0.8µm-2.5µm detectors we manufacture, which are extremely sensitive and widely used for scientific applications. They incorporate our proprietary APD technology to enhance sensitivity in low flux applications.

Our SWIR APD products include the high frame rate Saphira 320x256 24µm (3KHz) and SaphiraQM 512x512 24µm (2KHz) as well as low flux IkePono1K 1024x1024 15µm (40Hz) and IBEX4M 2048x2048 15µm (1Hz).  We also have IkePono4M in development in a 2048x2048 15µm (60Hz). SaphiraQM, IkePono and Ibex devices have been developed for ground and space application with a radiation hard cell ROIC.
