January

A new year, and new beginnings for Leonardo.

As the sun dawned on 2022, we congratulated a team of Leonardo colleagues, led by David Gourlay, who were recognised in the Vice Chief of Defence Staff Commendation awards for their contribution to the Leonardo Strategic Partnering Agreement to develop, deliver and support critical air survivability solutions.

With everyone returning to the office, we highlighted how our Employee Benefits system is helping colleagues from across the UK. We spoke to colleagues around the business such as Jane, who chose to opt for the Go Green car scheme, which offers one of the cheapest and easiest ways to drive a brand-new electric car, and Anne, who uses Custom Working to organise her working week around care appointments for her mother.

We celebrated new contracts for the development and delivery of the Eurofighter Typhoon’s ECRS Mk1 (European Common Radar System Mk1) E-scan radar, while elsewhere, we welcomed a new Typhoon Display Team pilot in Flt Lt Adam O’Hare – who would go on to wow the crowds at air shows in the summer.

The new year saw Leonardo’s string of successes at awards ceremonies continue, with Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprentice Devon Ward, from our Yeovil site, taking home the Engineering Apprentice Rising Star Award at the Make UK Awards national final.
