The initiative is designed to encourage teenagers to discover what Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)-related options are available to them after completing their GCSEs.
During the day, the teenagers took part in various engineering challenges, including building a speaker and discovering how it works, as well as toured the facilities, including an anechoic chamber and labs.
A team of graduates and apprentices ran the day.
The EDT’s Ellen Gunning, who co-ordinates Routes into STEM, added: “Routes into STEM, as the name suggests, is about showing our students the different paths into a STEM-related career. We have worked with Leonardo as a company partner for a number of years, and the feedback from our students has always been extremely positive. Thank you to all the Leonardo STEM Ambassadors for again making the day at both Luton and Southampton so enjoyable and engaging for our students.
